Button Process

1. First, button parts are cut from sheets of compatible fusing glass.

2. Then we choose a base color. Once that is cut, with loving care, we take each piece to the grinder to round the corners and smooth the sides.

3. Next we choose the second layer which creates the design.

4. Finally, each piece is carefully placed in the kiln and fired to around 1500 degrees. The buttons spend 24 hours in the kiln from start to finish.

5. When the buttons are ready, each button is removed from the kiln and rechecked for sharp edges.

6. The shanks are then glued to the backs.

7. After 24 more hours they are ready to be carded, labeled and priced.

Because each button is unique, each set of buttons is unique.
